  • We’ve just returned from a 10 day stay at Gwydyr House in Ryde. We had a fabulous stay in a very comfortable and convenient property. It was Close to the shops and beaches and easy access to anywhere else on the island. The house was clean and tidy and had everything we needed. Jane was a fantastic host.

  • 2 Gwydyr House

We lived at No 2 for 3 months, using Ryde and the Isle of Wight as our landing pad in the UK after relocating from Asia. And it was perfect for what we needed: walking distance to the school, high street shops and transport; choice of dog walking routes; outdoor space and well stocked so we didn't need to think of anything. We've stayed in plenty of holiday rentals over the years and can say that Gwydyr House is one of the best properties out there. Jane deserves her superhost title - she has thought of almost every detail, cares deeply about her guests' experience and clearly loves the house as her own. Michelle who manages the houses deserves recognition too - she looked after us extremely well and was a delight to have around. If we ever need to stay on the IOW again, we wouldn't book anywhere else.

  • Beautiful house, large rooms, wonderful high ceilings. Kids (2 x 6yo) loved the games room. Very well-equipped (TV streaming, wifi (solid 40MB+), household products, loads of crockery, big towels) so you feel at home straightaway. Even had a pint of milk in the fridge!

Hi Jane Just a quick note to say, it was a lovely stay. A few random things to pick out - all positive but which stood out for me. Plenty of space for us - we were a bit of a staging post for a few of the other attendees in advance of the funeral procession which left from Ryde seafront, which worked brilliantly. The kids loved the games room. Well equipped in many ways - small things but that add up to a great experience: - including Prime/Netflix (not that we actually watched much TV); - Complementary coffee/wine/croissants - plus you had a cafetiere (essential for me) - Plenty of good towels – Beds
were warm and comfortable, plenty of cushions - Cleaning products/kitchen roll - boring but essential - Radio in the kitchen (also essential) - Loads of sturdy crockery, cutlery and cups Wifi worked well and enabled me to work from home a bit as well. Heating was straightforward to use. All in all, really good. A lovely house that felt like home straightaway. The children are already asking about coming back.

  • We had an excellent stay at this home. Superbly clean, very well stocked (kitchen, bathrooms etc) and an easy walking distance to shops and restaurants in Ryde. Jane was very responsive and helpful with check in. We particularly enjoyed the outdoor space which was larger than we expected and great for an outside meal. We would definitely stay here again!

  • We stayed here for a week long family holiday and it was brilliant, it’s so much bigger than we were expecting. Everything was clean, beds were comfortable, kitchen had everything you need. The garden is a good size and has loads of seating. Well situated so you can experience lots of different things on the island. Communication with Jane was excellent. We would 100% stay again and recommend it.
