Local beach
Take a stroll through the golf course turn right along the stream and to the beach where at low tide you can collect shell, sea-glass and drift wood and let the dog roam around free
Check the tide. Usually about 2 hours before low tide is a good time to walk to the town along the beach

Sandy Beach
If you head on along the esplanade past the bust station and hovercraft (a treat to watch) you will find the lovely golden sandy, Appley Beach. Dogs are allowed past the tower. There are a few lovely cafes and restaurants on the beachfront. Café at this end of the beach selling snack food with the Three Bouys Restaurant above, offering stunning views but on the pricey side. The Dell café is at the far end of the beach and again lovely for sitting outside for a snack or a drink
For a longer stroll, continue on to Seaview, Seagrove and Priory beaches are lovely and Sandy, just check the tides as the beach (at seagrove) disappears at high tide.

Alternatively continue straight on from the golf course and stroll through the local village and up to the Binstead Road to the Fleming arms for lunch or dinner. Lovely garden with kids play area. Why not try some of the local produce from their farm shop
A bit of History
If you want a longer stroll continue on the costal path to Quarr Abbey then on to the fishbourne inn where you can sit in the garden and enjoy a drink or a bite
